The piers were drilled to within 4 feet of water elevation
from the existing bridge deck prior to demolition of the bridge
spans. After removal of the
spans, the piers were shot to the drilled depth. The remaining 55 feet of pier was drilled from a spud barge
and shot full depth to mud line.

Project was 100% underwater. Client
drilled the holes too shallow. The
Corps of Engineers had specs as to the height of the piers left underwater. Dykon sent scuba divers down and bulk loaded the concrete
pier stubs to remove them down to desired grade.
